Las Vegas was one city that I had always longed to visit and we finally managed to get there in the early months of this year after almost a decade and a half. We were really floored by the grandeur of the city.I must say that Las Vegas is city worth visiting and if you have not been there, a tour of this city is a must.
We toured the city while the Great Recession was going on and so feel that we did not get to see it completely as a majority of shops were not open. We spent our days at Mandalay Bay Hotel which offered a very enticing package. This hotel was situated at the south end,but this did not pose much of a problem as there were umpteen ways of reaching the city.
Getting to New York from the Pyramid Hotel and the Excalibur was no Herculean task due to the excellent means of transport. All the hotels were fantastically grand and they really floored me. The resplendence was inexplicable. The one point that I was rather disappointed about was the stuffiness in the visitors haunts as a result of smoke. Not being a smoker, I found visiting these haunts extremely uncomfortable.
Our visit to the out skirts of the city began with a tour to the Hoover Dam. The sight seeing of this dam took up so much of our time that all our plans of visiting the Grand Canyon went completely hay wire. One thing that I have decided is that if we come to Las Vegas on another visit ,I will ensure that I have one more day to conduct a tour of the Grand Canyon.
We had a great time going around all the shops and though we did not really purchase much,it would not have been difficult spend a lot of money.Twenty thousand dollar goods could be found in many shops. What attracted us most was the genuine mementos signed by great people themselves. I was tempted to buy an autographed poster of a film, but was hesitant to spend so much of money on it.
